So here’s a conundrum — a beauty product designed to make your face beautifully thinner, but it also makes you look like an alien, the female twin of Jason from the “Friday the 13th” movies or Hannibel Lecter. Called the Face Slimmer, it is an invention, once again, from our friends in Japan, designed to help all us round faced girls and guys thin down our chubby cheeks and multiple chins. Seriously?! It probably works because, besides smushing your face, the lack of ventilation sweats the moisture right out of your pores to suck those moonface cheeks and turkey gullet chins right down, at least on a temporary basis. So it’s not a total loss, you can always use it to scare away door-to-door solicitors.

Jewelry made from paper and wood — does it get any simpler than that? We love the Honey earrings (right) from the Organics collection with their honeycomb pattern etched and cut on 
wood veneer. We are also in awe of Arabic Array earring (left) from the Pattern collection, which has a double sided etch and cut pattern on laminated papers.
