THE GREEN LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Our 10 Eco Friendly Favorites of the Summer!

By Bonny Osterhage

CoCo Chanel, the woman credited for introducing the little black dress (LBD) into the forefront of fashion, once said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”  We think the perfect LBD helps her accomplish both. No woman’s closet should be without one! What makes the LBD the wardrobe staple that has survived the decades? It’s versatility for one. It is what you reach for when you aren’t sure what to wear because it is always appropriate, always flattering and always in vogue. It can be the backdrop to well thought out accessories or it can stand alone by virtue of simplicity. That is why we agree with Ms. Chanel, but we would like to add one thing: A girl should be classy, fabulous and green. Here are ten classy and fabulous little black dresses, eco fashion style.

Seriously?! SERIOUSLY?!

Bar Mitzvahs Have Gone to the Dogs!

I just don’t even know where to begin with this one. There are people starving and struggling all over the world and crazy people are spending thousands of dollars on lavish “Bark Mitzvah” ceremonies for their dogs?! Let me just say that I am both Jewish and a total dog lover — but, Seriously?! A Bark Mitzvah, people?! Have we no boundaries?! Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are religious “coming of age” ceremonies when a Jewish boy or girl turns 13 years old. So, when do you have a Bark Mitzvah — when the dog is 13 in human years or dog years? And, believe it or not, an entire new industry has cropped up around this joke. You can get invitations, yarmulkes, all meat Bark Mitzvah cakes, gifts and party favors. Unreal… If dogs could talk, they would think this whole thing was completely paw-thetic…
