It’s Hot for Fall and We’ve Got Some Great Eco Friendly Picks to Get You Stylin’

By Bonny Osterhage

What do you think of when you think of plaid? The 1980s? Golfers? Grunge rockers? Plaid may be all of those things but, this fall, plaid is everything. In fact, if you don’t add at least one plaid item to your wardrobe this season, you may as well hibernate and re-emerge in the spring. If you hesitate for fear of looking like a reject from “The Preppy Handbook” or, worse yet, a lumberjack, relax — these eco fashion plaids are completely wearable and the styles reflect the best of the current trends.

Seriously?! SERIOUSLY?!

Be@One Doesn’t Have a Leg to Stand On

File this one under, “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” Another McCartney (sort of) has jumped on the eco friendly bandwagon, but this time with disastrous results. Heather Mills new recycled clothing line, Be@One is such a mess that we really don’t know where to start.  Her Seriously?! message? “There is nothing trashy about recycling unwanted clothing!” Her result? Trashy looking unwanted clothing. Seriously?! Who would wear this stuff? Jumpers with bizarre looking cutouts in the legs, cheap looking fabrics that appear to have been pieced together by a five-year-old — you would think the former Mrs. McCartney might have better things to do with her time. Stella, you have nothing to worry about. The website isn’t together yet, but we suggest you save this URL for the future when you need a good laugh. www.bat1.com

SO HOT!

Give Your Sandals The Boot

Nothing signals the return of fall like putting your sandals in storage and pulling on a great pair of boots. We love the Narmada style from NeuAura’s recently debuted fall collection. The black/espresso color combination is rich and beautiful, while the buckle detailing adds an equestrian feel. Great with jeans or tights. $165 at www.neuaurashoes.com
