We truly love watching companies evolve in their pursuit of sustainability. When we first encountered Rebe, this mother-daughter design team had a few pieces in their collection, mostly cute flowery handbags, that were made from recycled vintage fabrics, and a few clothing pieces made from "recycled fiber." With the introduction of the company's spring 2008 collection, Rebe now has a whole section of its website dedicated to eco friendly clothing. While, admittedly, the entire product line isn't "green," we're thrilled to see them moving stylishly in that direction. And, the eco friendly collection is quite unique, a little vintage looking and full of surprise style elements, mostly in earthy tones.

Take the Penelope Dress Organic (above left)... While the front is simple and elegant, the dress, made of organic cotton fabric from Japan, has a playful cut-out in the back. The Nancy Jo Dress (right) may seem simple at first glance from the front, but has an unexpected tie at the back across the shoulders. Most are made from all organic materials, but some do have a hint of nylon or spandex for stretch. A GREEN THUMB FOR GREEN SKIN CARE

Renowned British Esthetician Kimberly Sayer found her calling at a young age. As the daughter of an organic farmer, Sayer and her family concocted their own skin, body and home products using the flowers, herbs and produce that grew in their own private garden. So, it comes as no surprise that Sayer grew up to enjoy success as an in demand Esthetician and an Organic Chemist whose products help beautify some pretty fabulous faces, including Paula Abdul and Shalom Harlow.

The product line includes cleansers, moisturizers, anti-aging products, masks and more with packaging made from recycled materials. We were blown away by the Tangerine and Calendula Healing Light Night Cream, which made some stubborn acne scars virtually disappear.  We are also addicted to the Botanical Astringent with its incredible cleansing properties that draw out every little impurity. CIRQUE DE BOB JOHNSON

Here's the set up... Bob Johnson spent 39 years in the insurance business so the story goes... Now he's retired...sort of...and making some of the coolest, whimsical and artistic organic cotton tees we've seen, inspired by old fashioned circus themes, nature, child's play and more. Called The Bob Johnson Project, the long sleeved t-shirts have beautiful unique black and red artwork on both sides so you're happenin' coming and going.

Here's the kicker... Bob Johnson isn't really Bob Johnson... He's the alter ego of designer Denise Plumb. As Denise tells it, when she was young, she loved to play "office" for hours and hours. She called herself Bob Johnson (we didn't ask why...). She eventually worked for her dad in the insurance industry. Her friends have continued to refer to her as Bob Johnson...hence the name of her company. Aren't back stories great?!

So, continuing the Bob Johnson fantasy, the whole website is set up like you're buying an insurance policy and, in fact, each tee comes with a policy number and inspirational message imprinted subtley at the neck on the back. Two of our favorites are the circus themed shirt... Policy #BJ-2764 which says, "because there is no limit to what you can do" and the butterfly nature-themed design, Policy #BJ-7496 with the message, "because you have to take time to enjoy the little things." SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES...

Suffice it to say we get a lot of samples here. So, when another soy candle arrived, we were a little skeptical. But, this time, the name of the company grabbed us...Something Wicked...quite creative. While it's pronounced wick-ed, like the musical, we kind of liked the double entendre...get it?...candle with a wick? The packaging was also nicely done...would make a good gift. But, what sealed the deal for us was the scent... Within minutes of lighting the hemp wick, everyone here was in a frenzy to find out what that amazingly heavenly fragrance was wafting throughout the office. It was the Bonita candle, a lucious combination of coconut and lime.

We're now hooked on Something Wicked candles. The company uses only sustainable materials, including soy wax, hemp core wicks, post consumer recyclable materials and soy based inks. There's now a debate here over what to try next... Do we go with the Pomegranate Mint Rababa or the Hannah with Fig and Apricot?
