C&C CALIFORNIA...ORGANIC
Here in California, we’re pretty sure that most of us have worn C&C soft like butter tank tops and t-shirts in every color imaginable, usually two or three layered together (see right). They are truly a wardrobe must have and so representative of the California casual chic style. (The collection was designed by two California girls.) So, imagine how excited we were to see our beloved t-shirt company introduce an organic collection that includes our precious tanks, plus a whole lot more. If you don't already have a stack in your closet, you should.
The lightweight organic cotton knit pieces are available in a rainbow of beautiful colors that are designed to layer
beautifully and offer a body flattering fit. The tanks, alone, come in more than 10 colors! We are also partial to the cute new tank top styles with messages like “Heal the Sea” (left) and “Live Life Organic” (not shown), and love the Organic Button Placket Top we found on www.shopbop.com (right). Discarded items are the newest medium de jour for eco-savvy jewelry designers. Skateboards, tin cans and even records (remember those) are all getting a second chance at life, thanks to three visionaries, who see treasure where others see only trash. Online green fashion retailer, BTCElements.com, can hook you up with all three collections for convenient one stop shopping.
Designer Anna Johansson makes use of tins and tin cans with enameled decorations for her delightfully unusual and colorful earring collection (shown above right). There are more than 20 styles to choose from. Old and damaged skateboards are the material Lindsay Jo Holmes works with for her earring designs (above left). To keep the integrity of the original board design, Holmes leaves one side rounded off to show the grain of the maple wood, while the other side is flat and features the scratched up deck artwork. Finally, Pop Rock & Roll earrings (right) from Millie Hilgert are made from shiny old records, come in a rainbow assortment of colors and add a fun and funky vibe to any look. San Francisco based clothing company, ISDA and Company, has made a name in the fashion industry by offering comfortable, fashionable clothing, that a woman can live, work and play in. Now the company can add eco friendly clothes to the description with the recent dedication to positive environmental change.
To that end, ISDA and Company has added items made from 100% organic cotton and hemp to the clothing collection, while keeping with the cool and casual style. We like the Hannah 1x1 Rib shirt (pictured right) from the White Label collection with its simple, sleeveless style, featuring a feminine and flattering twist on the neckline. We are also crazy about the soft tank top with the vintage India block print (above). Pair it with a hemp cardigan for a look that is as comfortable at home as it is on the town. Available at at select Nordstrom stores or at www.isda-and-co.com. Check carefully though because only certain items in the line are sustainable.
ALL THAT GLITTERS...
If you want to get noticed this summer, then you are going to have to sparkle and shine. Pure & Basic makes it easy with Glitter Up, a moisturizing body lotion that adds mega-watt shimmer to legs, arms, décolleté and any other area to which you want to draw attention.
Glitter Up is made from the highest quality natural ingredients, including essential oils, such as apricot kernel and vitamin E, as well as botanical extracts, like Japanese green tea. Like all the products in the Pure & Basic line, Glitter Up is cruelty free and formulated to achieve maximum benefits and results. Available in gold and opalescent, the Glitter Up shades flatter a variety of skin tones, while the earth derived mica creates an unprecedented shine.
