PARIS IS GREEN??
Well, let's just say that Paris is wearing green... We're not sure about the practicing a green lifestyle part. What we are sure about is that the t-shirt she is wearing is a 100% certified organic cotton tee from Threads for Thought and this eco fashion collection is so hot or, excuse us, as Paris would say... "That's hot." The t-shirts have great sayings on them, like the one Paris is wearing that
says, "What if this was the only tree left to hug" with a tree air freshener graphic or Ecoholic (left). Each collection is inspired by three major causes: the environment, Africa and world conflict, supporting three charities, which include the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and ENOUGH, a project to end genocide and crimes against humanity. We love finding great lines that are both eco and socially conscious. Threads for Thought is available at www.tobi.com. Look for the new Fall 2008 collection to hit stores in September. EXTREMELY NATURAL BEAUTY — PART II: ANIMAL EXPERIENCES
by Laurel House
Laurel House, White Apricot's original editor, now writes a regular humorous and quite wonderful column for us. We're so thrilled to have her back!
Note: The following article is not for the squeamish, but another fun read from Laurel!
After wrapping up last week’s rant on the newest “it” excrement spa treatments, bird poop and bull semen, I settled into my nightly beauty routine, when I suddenly realized in complete horror that I, in fact, had been lovingly slathering excrement into my skin for years! Caviar! Caviar, my friends, are fish eggs, extracted from the belly of female fish. Some brilliant beauty inventor/marketing team succeeded in turning the little, liquidy, protein and nutrient-rich eggs into creamy designer potions, peddled as the “magic bullets” to age-defying beauty. At some point years ago, I bought into the hype and became addicted to my little jars of milky, magical excrement. Yes, I now have egg on my face. But, you know what? At least, it’s not shit.
Not into animal excrements? How about allowing fish to nibble the calluses off your toes, or snakes to slither and leeches to suckle your spine for the sake of detoxification and relaxation? Hold on tight, this is where the beauty industry really gets wild!

FOR A YOUNGER COMPLEXION...JUST ADD OIL
by Bonny Osterhage
Slathering oil on your face might sound like a recipe for breakouts, but not if the oil in question is from ISUN Organic Skin Care. These Facial Oil Moisturizers are made in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, using only organic, wild-crafted and natural plant ingredients. The ingredients are selected for their life-force energies and extracted using a cold-process technique, that allows the skin transforming ingredients to stay alive.
If you still can’t get used to the idea of willingly rubbing oil into your face, consider this. Oils contain the highest level of active, alive nutrients. They are easily absorbed by the skin and, due to the skin’s own natural oil composition, penetrate more deeply than creams. As a result, they do not clog pores, but absorb completely into the skin, leaving you with a dewy, healthy and, dare we say it, younger looking complexion. ISUN Organic Skin Care offers a Facial Oil Moisturizer for every skin type. Buy ISUN products at www.beautyhabit.com. To learn more, go to at www.isunorganicskincare.com.
