CATCH THE BATTALION ECO FASHION SHOW ON TONIGHT'S "90210"

My newest guilty pleasure, “90210,” has all the teen angst and drama I loved the first time around, although with decidedly modern twists, such as cyber bullying and much more explicit sex. One thing didn’t change, however, and that is the show’s devotion to all things fashionable, and tonight the show gives a shout out to “green chic” with a fashion show from The Battalion.
The Battalion has become well known for fashion forward, sexy and comfortable eco friendly clothes and an innovative use of bamboo fibers to create luxurious fabrics. Their fall 2008 collection stays true to form with cutting edge pieces, like the cozy, chic, organic cotton fleece Ali Jacket (far right), which has a great drape to it, including a hood and built-in scarf. The bamboo jersey BiBi top (right) with its ruffles, pleats and snap front is ultra-hot when paired with jeans. Finally, in keeping with one of the season’s hottest trends, The Battalion has created a bamboo organic cotton fleece corset vest that is ideal for layering (try it over the BiBi as shown).

I’ve never been a summer wardrobe kind of girl. You might say that I endure summer fashion. How strange is that coming from someone who has lived in sunny Southern California my whole life?! But, I relish the time when the seasons change and we move into cooler weather and…wait for it… BOOTS! RUFFLES ARE TOO SEXY!

“Ruffles aren’t sexy!” my boyfriend laughed when I walked into the bedroom last night wearing my new, what I thought was sexy, yet comfortable, silken bamboo camisole and figure-flattering pj pants with yes, ruffles. Now, let me tell you that the ruffles were little. They weren’t the huge, cutesy, time-warp-to-7th grade kind. But, after all, upon entering a relationship, you make the unspoken decision to do away with your ratty, but comfy, sweats and hole-infested night shirt, and apparently your ruffled outfits too, in order to dress to impress your significant.
Just in case you are a guy and unfamiliar with the concept of making your significant feel good about herself, particularly as she gets in bed, and especially if you are expecting any action, do not tell her that she doesn’t look sexy, even if she slips under the sheets in her old ratty tee. Those comments—number 1—are a gigantic turn off and—number 2—that sting sticks…which is why, today, I was determined to discover the perfect nighttime outfit to fulfill multiple needs: sex appeal, eco conscious, comfortable, and yes…with ruffles! And I found it. “Ruffles aren’t sexy?” Try to turn me down wearing this get up!
