With every season, they get better and better…more sophisticated, more in tune with what’s in vogue and just plain hot! Editor’s Note: We’re very excited to have Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff, the editor of www.Ecostiletto.com contributing to White Apricot this week. What follows is EcoStiletto’s exclusive interview with Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos and her move towards a greener lifestyle.
AN INTERVIEW WITH MARIA MENOUNOS ON “GREEN HOLLYWOOD”
by Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff, EcoStiletto.com
The host of “Hollywood Green,” Planet Green’s collaboration with “Access Hollywood,” Maria Menounos is an actress, filmmaker, activist and journalist, who also corresponds for the “Today Show” and “Access Hollywood,” as well as contributing to “NBC Nightly News” and “Channel One News,” among other gigs. She’s the founder and Executive Director of the charity Take Action Hollywood, which uses the media to raise social awareness, but you cyber-geeks probably know her better for her ass-kicking role opposite Sean Connery in the “James Bond 007: From Russia with Love” video game, which won her “Cyber Vixen of the Year” at the 2007 Spike Video Game Awards (beating out Charlize Theron and Jessica Alba, booyah!). EcoStiletto.com caught up with her to talk about her role in greening Hollywood.
FUN IS POPPING UP AT THE DINNER TABLE
The dreaded holiday dinner with the in-laws just got a lot more fun with PopMat Paper Placemats from Publique Living. Made from 100 percent recycled paper, the mats come in packs of ten and feature six whimsical pop-up designs. Each mat is available in either natural or white and has a space for writing the name of the guest. It’s like a place card and place mat in one! We like the Banquet Table for Thanksgiving and the Reindeer design for Christmas, but any of the PopMats are sure to spark conversation. $25-$27 per pack at www.publiqueshop.com.

I have spent the majority of the past 38 years saying no to vegetables, so it comes as a huge surprise that lately, I have been saying yes to carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes on a daily basis.
Yes To Inc. is the company behind the popular Yes to Carrots line of natural skin and hair care products. In September, they added Yes to Cucumbers and Yes to
Tomatoes to the menu. The products combine certified organic fruits and vegetables with Dead Sea mud and minerals for amazing results. Each vegetable is designed to combat specific skin problems: tomatoes for oily/combination skin, cucumber for sensitive skin and carrots for the normal to dry variety. Personally, I like to combine them for my own skin care salad, depending on the ever-changing needs of my complexion. The one product that is a constant in my routine however, is the Eye Love Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel. I use this product daily to reduce puffiness and dark circles and it feels amazing. I like to store it in the refrigerator for an extra cooling effect! The collections can be found exclusively at your local Walgreens Drug Stores or at www.walgreens.com.
