“I’M TIRED OF…” CAMPAIGN UPDATE
by Carrie Pollare
As many of you know, the “I’m Tired of…” bracelet campaign is something that we have been working very hard on. It is a true labor of love for us and so far, in just the three short months since we launched, we can now say that we have more than 4,000 bracelets on the wrists of people who want to make a difference and have raised money for some very important causes.
We have two timely announcements to share. First, we have just introduced a brand new bracelet, “I’m Tired of Breast Cancer,” with $5 from each $10 eco friendly bracelet (that’s half the sale), going to Breastcancer.org, the number one online resource for reliable, complete and up-to-date information about breast health and cancer.
Second, February is Heart Disease Awareness Month. Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in the US. This month, take a little time to educate yourself and do something for your own heart health…get some exercise, eat healthy, get a checkup. The “I’m Tired of Heart Disease” bracelet is raising money for Hope Heart Institute, which has a 50-year history of medical advances and educational curriculums that make heart disease more treatable, beatable and preventable. We think it
would make a great Valentine’s Day gift, both to support heart disease research and treatment and to make a great fashion “statement,” if you catch our double meaning…!
We are on a mission to blow our beginning sales numbers away now and make 2009 the year we make massive donations to all these great causes and begin to really make a difference, in spite of everything going on around us. www.ImTiredOnline.com

So, we’ve tried to focus on travel in this week’s issue, but Valentine’s Day is this Saturday. Yes, we brought you our Valentine’s Day Gift Guide in last week’s issue so you’d have plenty of time to order, but (and we know it’s a bit of a stretch), here’s a product we just found out about that fits into both themes…because it’s a recycled glass heart and, with your help, it travels.
Called “Heart Is Hot,” the concept is this: Vibrant red recycled glass hearts, each etched with its own individual number, are given with love from one person to another. The “giver” then gets on www.HeartIsHot.com and tells their story of giving. Then, the
“receiver” of the heart is asked to also get on the website and share what the gift meant to them. When the spirit moves, the “receiver” is supposed to “re-gift” the heart to spread the love to someone else and two more stories are added to the website archives for that particular number. Then, the new receiver re-gifts and so on and so on. You get the idea. So, the heart takes a journey (there’s the travel tie in…). All kidding aside, there are some wonderful stories on the website and the concept is sweet. $24.99 at www.HeartIsHot.com.
