"Green" for all Mankind

When I think of “buying organic” or “going green,” I usually think of produce and energy efficient light bulbs – but “green” jeans? How could someone mess with my wardrobe staple indigo blues? Well, let me be the first to tell you that 7 for All Mankind, the premium jeans company that has always brought us fabulous fits, fabrics and finishes, is taking a fashionable step forward to bettering the environment by offering an exclusive capsule of organic denim in its Summer 2007 Collection. Ladies…start your hybrid engines!
I will admit that Sevens are my very favorite line of premium denim. The pair that I bought three years ago makes it into my wardrobe rotation regularly. They still fit like a glove and I love the way they flatter my “assets.” So, you can imagine how the news of 7 for All Mankind organic jeans was music to the ears of this conscious consumer! I was just a little reluctant. Would going green mean I’d sacrifice clean lines and that signature Sevens designer look? But I put my trust in 7 for All Mankind and the company did not disappoint.
The collection comes in three styles, all in a wash appropriately called Yosemite. (Don’t you love how even the name is a la Mother Earth?) It’s a deep blue denim wash, which elicits the true natural feeling of the organic premium denim. The denim used for these select pieces is made with 100% organic cotton, grown from pesticide-free plants. Maybe it’s a placebo effect, knowing these jeans are for a conscious consumer, but they honestly do feel better. I got to take a bootcut pair for a test drive and, I can assure you, 7 for All Mankind is doing its part to sustain the environment without sacrificing quality or style. I discovered that organic Sevens are soft and comfortable to curl up in on the couch and read a book. They are lightweight and durable for a leisurely walk outside as the summer air starts to drift in. And, these designer jeans gone green are definitely sleek, the perfect companion to a sexy top and pair of heels for a night out on the town.
You too can be consciously chic. Organic Sevens will be available beginning about May 30th and range in price from $161 - $183. So, get ready to grab your reusable shopping bag and head to Neiman Marcus, Saks or Bloomingdale's to get your pair or buy them online at www.7forallmankind.com.
