Fabulous Finds: "Soleful" PurposePamper Yourself and Your Pocketbook - Spa Week Fabulous Finds: "Soleful" PurposeFabulous Finds: "Soleful" Purpose

Nothing awakens all my senses and totally relaxes me like a good spa treatment (just don’t tell my husband). I exhale at the mere mention of the word “spa” . . . aaaahhh. Images of cool cucumber compresses, fluffy bathrobes, soothing aromas and decadent treatments flood my mind. Too bad this most blissful and enjoyable form of wellness comes with a hefty price tag. Usually I reserve my spa visits for special occasions and even then I still feel a little guilty for dropping $100 plus on an hour of indulgence… that is until I learned about Spa Week.

What is Spa Week? Well in my opinion, it’s heaven on earth. Spa Week is seven days (April 16th – 22nd) where over 300 spas in over twenty cities nationwide are offering a variety of full service treatments for $50!! No, you are not hallucinating and I did not make a typo – spa treatments are FIFTY DOLLARS.

Spa Week was born one evening when two stressed out career women were discussing how to create an event that would make the mind and body health benefits of the spa lifestyle affordable to more than just the “privileged.” Their principle objective by creating Spa Week is, “to marry consumers' want and need for affordable spa treatments, and day spas' need for a broader range of clients, making the entire spa industry a healthy part of the wellness lifestyle available to all.”

I second that – equal enzymatic facials and Swedish massages for all!! I am salivating over the lists of treatments that are available from spas my bank account would blush in front of. It’s the who’s who of spas. For one week, I am going to indulge in as many massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, scrubs, and wraps I can handle, before I start glowing so much my husband gets suspicious. So far I’m booked for a Chocolate Kiss Facial, a Hot Stone Massage and a Seaweed Body Wrap . . . and I just started making calls.

The spas are booking up fast so reserve your slice of heaven today by going to www.spaweek.org. Simply click on any city for a list of spas and treatments offered. Be sure to mention “Spa Week” when booking for the special $50 price. Most spas are offering two or three types of treatments from their menu at the Spa Week discount, but so far I have found the selection of services offered are top-notch. In other words, these are not the “sale rack” services.

Enjoy and you’re welcome!
