Yogic Solutions Feng Shui and the Power Panty
Feng Shui and the Power Panty

Not only is regular yoga practice the perfect way to relax and to exercise the body, but did you know that certain postures and techniques can also be just what the doctor ordered to soothe what ails you? So, lose the drugs and pop a dose of yoga instead!

Yogic Aspirin

Horns seem to incessantly blare. Your kids or (even worse) your friend’s kids are belting out that ear drum-squeezing scream. You drank too much last night and forgot to hydrate. The reason, at this painful point, is irrelevant. All you know is that your head feels like it is in a vice and you are willing to try anything to STOP THE THROB! Ease off on the unnecessary mind-numbing pills. Aspirin now comes in the form of a breath. Here’s your prescription for a mind-easing yogic aspirin.

1. Sit in a relaxed position.
2. Press your right index finger against your right nostril, plugging the airway.
3. Breathe deeply and slowly through the left nostril for three minutes.

You will feel a cool soothing breath flowing in and out of the nostril as your headache melts away.

Yogic Caffeine

You woke up with a head full of fuzz (no thanks to a late night of mischief), swollen eyes, and the sudden realization that you have a very important meeting with your board members, who happen to be the only people who can fire you…since you are the CEO of your company. (Okay, so the meeting might be with your boss and you are an assistant. Everyone has to start somewhere!). You could down a cup of coffee or a pill called “pep” to jolt your senses awake, but last week, you decided to cut out the caffeine. A diet of two pots of coffee and a six pack of Diet Coke raised a few red flags at the office and you are trying to prove that you can survive without the supplementary stimulants. Not to worry, caffeine now comes in the form of a breath. Here’s your prescription for a mind-awakening yogic caffeine to get an immediate and lasting burst of energy.

1. Sit with the spine straight in a comfortable cross-legged position.
2. Roll your tongue into a V with the tip just outside the lips.
3. Inhale deeply through the rolled tongue.
4. Exhale through the nose.
5. Repeat for two-three minutes.

Now, harness that energy and get to work!
