Fabulous Finds: "Soleful" PurposeScent-sational

Years ago, I found my perfect perfume. And the really great thing was that no one knew what it was. I’d always get asked what I was wearing. I loved that my perfume “find” was still a well kept secret. Pushing forward a few years, the word got out and everyone asked if I was wearing that particular brand. Sigh…While I still loved that perfume, it was definitely time for a change. After all, a girl has to maintain her individuality.
A friend told me about Blunda Aromatics, an enchanting little apothecary and studio, filled with more than 200 aromatic essences, woods, flowers, resins, and herbs (and so much more, but I’ll get to that). Here, I could make my own personal perfume, confident that it would be a unique reflection of me. I could also make my own skin creams, lotions and even lipsticks and candles.
“Making these products is just like making cookies,” says owner Persephenie Schnyder. “If you can scramble eggs you can do any of this stuff.” Well put.
Of course, you don’t have to don the lab coat or put on your wizard’s hat and make your own “eau de (insert your name here).” Blunda carries a full line of essential oils, skincare products, botanical perfumes, incense, candles, diffusers, candleholders and books. Refresh your skin with an Indian Ayurvedic skin care line or anoint yourself in natural perfumes, made with a base of jojoba oil or organic grape spirits. Persephenie is also coming out with her own line of natural skin care products, appropriately named “Persephenie”. Blunda also carries an extensive collection of ceramic bowls for 
burning incense, as well as a case filled with vintage and designer jewelry to top it off. They do offer a myriad of classes on everything from the history of perfume and how to make your own aromatic products to making your own lipsticks. I see a “girl’s day out” party on the horizon. I need to share my new “find.”
