Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Bold Pastel Clothes
You might recall how last week we brought you the paradoxical trend of bold pastels in the form of handbags that will lighten your load. This week, we are revisiting the über hot trend for those who want to take it a step further and add some light to their spring wardrobe. These pretty pastels, when paired with your other eco friendly clothes and accessories, will show your softer side this season!
Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly and Vegan Bold Pastel Handbags
Bold pastel may seem like an oxymoron but, rules of grammar aside, it is the only way to describe the look that is sweeping the pages of spring fashion magazines, like this month’s InStyle. Pastel pinks, baby blues, and light lavenders may be soft in hue, but that doesn't mean they don't stand out. These eco friendly and vegan handbags are prime examples of how opposites not only attract — they rule!
Fashion Trend: Pantone Color of the Year - Tangerine Tango - Eco Style
We’ve got a fashion tidbit and it's a juicy one! The Pantone Color Institute has christened Tangerine Tango the official color of 2012 — and with good reason! This hot hue energizes your eco fashion wardrobe in a way that no other color can.
Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Heart Necklaces for Valentine's Day
Ladies, who says you have to wait for that special someone to give you jewelry? Treat yourself this Valentine's Day to some of the sweetest hearts we've ever seen, all designed to be worn around your neck — not on your sleeve. Ranging in style from modern to classic, it's easy to fall in love with these eco friendly necklaces that make a lovely statement, not just on February 14th, but all year long.
Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly and Vegan Nude Pumps
We aren't all lucky enough to be born with the long legs of a runway model, but even the most vertically challenged among us can fake long, lovely gams by simply adding a pair of nude pumps. They blend, rather than distract, creating a long lean line that seems to go on for days. We found eco friendly and vegan pumps in various styles and shades of nude that will give you a leg up on those days when you want to stand head and shoulders above the rest.
Fashion Trend: The Color Grape Eco Fashion Style
We heard through the grapevine (actually through InStyle Magazine) that grape is the color du jour! We aren't talking about lighthearted lavenders or muddied merlots. This is a rich, true shade of purple that plays well with brown and black during the winter months. Not ones to squash a trend, we found so many eco friendly clothes and accessories in the regal hue that we wanted to pick the whole bunch! Chances are you will too.
Baby, it's cold outside, so wrap yourself in warmth this season with an eco friendly coat. Smart, sophisticated and stylish, an overcoat adds polish to your winter wardrobe and, with proper care, will last for many winters to come.
Eco Friendly Holiday Dresses and Accessories
Have you ever noticed how quickly your holiday dance card fills? Between the obligatory office party, your GNO with your besties, and your festive family functions, it seems like you are more in demand then the big guy in the red suit this time of year. Take a cue from Rudolph and stand out in the crowd by donning head turning holiday apparel. Yes, Virginia, there really are fabulous eco friendly dresses and accessories for the holidays, and we've got a few to get you started.
Fall/Winter Beauty Trend: Red Lips
Gwen Stefeani and red lips have gone hand-in-hand for years. But, now it seems that everywhere you look, stars from redheaded Emma Stone to the cool, blonde Cameron Diaz are sporting glamorous candy apple kissers that range from slick and shiny to bold and matte. To try the trend the eco friendly way, we found a few all natural lipsticks in red hot hues. Don’t think you’re red-dy? Remember, anyone can pull this off. You just need the right shade, killer confidence, and a mega watt smile.
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Capes and Ponchos
Some looks are so fabulous, they transcend the fickleness of fashion to become iconic. The cape is a great example, and no eco fashion wardrobe should be without one this season. Less bulky than a coat, a cape provides an air of mystery, elegance and grace to a wardrobe, much in the same way that pearls class up a t-shirt and jeans. It’s a look that is always fashionable with out being “faddish,” and timeless without being “trendy.” In other words, a classic!
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: The Season's Best Eco Friendly and Vegan Boots
Feeling like your eco fashion wardrobe is looking a little stale? Maybe it’s time to reboot! A super hot pair of eco friendly or vegan boots can take last year’s tried and true to this year’s trendy! Wear them with skirts, pair them with jeans — these boots are made for walkin’, workin’ and playin’ too. Find the pair that’s right for you and prepare to look “bootilicious!”
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Choker Necklaces
The season’s favorite accessory is nothing to get choked up about. In fact, we are all smiles when it comes to the choker. Plain and simple or glitzy and glam, these eco friendly accessories have two things in common: they give you a big hug around the neck and make a big statement. And, whose eco friendly wardrobe couldn’t use both of those?
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Chunky Knit Sweaters
Normally, it’s offensive to describe something (or someone) as “chunky,” but there’s no other word for the thick, wooly, textured, and cable knits that make you long to curl up and hibernate until spring. We found a few that will add some warmth to your eco friendly winter wardrobe.
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Native American Inspired Clothing and Accessories
Beautiful colors, intricate patterns and natural elements make up the Native American inspired look that is dominating the fashion world. From feather accessories to sweaters reminiscent of Navajo blankets, it’s a style that proves that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. We have found some eco friendly clothing and accessories that embody the look. One word of caution: incorporate only one or two at a time, lest you be mistaken as someone channeling Pocahontas.
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Bucket Handbags
Lots of people make bucket lists, filled with lofty, life-changing goals to be accomplished in their lifetimes. This isn’t one of those lists. This bucket list is filled with beautiful, wardrobe-changing bucket bags, a super hot trend for fall! I think the fact that they are eco friendly is a lofty enough reason to add the purchase of one to my own personal eco fashion bucket list. I bet you will too! In our fall fashion trends sneak peek, we showed you the divine Colleen Estrada Sierra bag in purple vegan leather. Here are more of our top picks!
Fall Natural Beauty Trend: Gold Metallic Nail Polish
We can’t make everything you touch turn to gold, but we can put a little gold at your fingertips with the season’s hottest nail trend, inspired by Chanel’s Peridot, a bold metallic green gold. As always, we are embracing the look the eco friendly way, with polishes that are free of the most harmful chemicals, but that still provide us with long lasting coverage and shine.
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Maxi Dresses Still Going Strong
Talk about a trend with staying power! The Maxi dress, such a must for spring and summer, is still going strong through fall and winter. It’s a wonderful basic upon which you can build, by adding a belt, layering with a jacket or sweater, working with flats or killer boots, or showcasing a statement necklace. It’s fun to go to great lengths for eco friendly fashion — especially when it’s a trend that shows no signs of slowing down!
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Bow Tie Blouses
In an apparent throwback to the 70s, bow blouses are back. Tied jauntily around the neck, or worn hanging loose and sexy, these bows are more sophisticated, than sweet. Sure, they are great for the workplace with a pencil skirt, but pair a silky version with skinny jeans and boots, and you’ve got a rock and roll romance. It’s an eco friendly fashion must for the girl who likes to stay on trend.
Fall Eco Fashion Trend: Oxford Shoes
You may remember them as “saddle shoes,” but this school girl staple is all grown up and ready to ditch your school uniform faster than you used to ditch classes. The simple lace up is a big fall trend and, while not overt, there is something sexy about this funky little flat. Pair it with all fall’s menswear-inspired eco friendly fashion, from structured trousers to rolled-up boyfriend jeans. It’s a look that’s a little “quirky librarian,” but very, very hip!
Fall Eco Fashion Trends Sneak Peek
So many trends, so little time — at least, that’s our thought on the many faces of fall. While we wait patiently for the eco fashion versions to hit the stores, we thought we’d give you a sneak peek at some of our favorite fall looks that you can grab NOW! We’ll be covering all of these and more in upcoming weeks. Until then — enjoy the preview!
Fashion Trend: "Slouchy" Eco Friendly T-shirts
Like all trends in both mainstream and eco friendly fashion, there is a margin of error. That is to say, trend is one thing — style quite another, and how you interpret a trend speaks to your own personal style. Having said that, some trends require a bit more explanation and, in our humble opinion, the slouchy tee is one of them. Slouchy and sloppy are not interchangeable, and mastering the slouchy look does not involve buying up two or three sizes. Slouchy is not too big, but is unstructured with looser necks and interesting hems. Still confused? Check out these tops that have slouchy down to a tee.
Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Vintage Necklaces
Put your own spin on your eco friendly fashions by adding a vintage necklace. According to those in the know, these baubles are the “must have accessory” for fall, and they soften the season’s structured suits. Where can you find these trinkets? You could prowl flea markets and estate sales, hoping to score, or let the following designers do the work for you, while you reap the rewards of their labor!
Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly Maxi Dresses
Long on style, eco friendly maxi dresses have got you covered when it comes to making a strong summer statement. Ideal for travel, a maxi dress can go from boho to black tie with a change of accessories, making it one of the most versatile items in your eco fashion wardrobe.
Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: Eco Friendly & Vegan Wedge Sandals
Some things just never go out of style and the classic wedge is one of them. Whether it is the traditional styling of the espadrille or the current, modern flatform craze, the wedge has left an indelible footprint on the fashion scene. Here are our favorite eco friendly wedge sandals that will have you walking tall all season.
Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: Fun, Bright Eco Friendly Beach Bags
You wouldn’t dream of covering up that “green” bikini with an oversized t-shirt, and your recycled rubber flip-flops are eco stylish and chic. So, why are you still toting last year’s bag? Your eco friendly beach bag, like your purse, is an extension of your look and should be fashionable, as well as functional. These totes have both those qualities, and more, in the bag!
